The 2nd upper-level low is slowly moving northeast away from Louisiana. This will allow us to have mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Winds will shift from the northwest to the west, and that will bring in some warmer air to the city. We will have high temperatures in the mid 70s.
Some clouds will stick around tonight making it partly cloudy. It will not be as chilly with lows in the mid 50s.
Week Ahead: An area of high pressure will build over the Southeast U.S. on Tuesday through Thursday. This will give us partly cloudy skies each day with it gradually getting more humid. We will also gradually get warmer each day with highs in the lower 80s mid 80s and lows in the lower to mid 60s.
The weather will start to go downhill on Friday through the weekend. A strong cold front will move into the Deep South on Friday. This will set off scattered showers and thunderstorms over Baton Rouge. Some heavy rain will be possible. We will be warm and humid with highs in the lower 80s. Friday Night will have more rain and storms with lows in the mid 60s.
Weekend Outlook: The cold front will slowly move through Baton Rouge on Saturday and Sunday. This will keep scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms over the city all weekend. Heavy rain will be possible each day. It will stay warm and humid with highs in the lower 80s and lows in the mid 60s Saturday Night. Then it turns a little cooler Sunday Night with lows in the upper 50s.
