Another Gorgeous Day With Warmer Temperatures

High pressure is currently sitting over us and it will move to the east of Louisiana today.  This will allow us to have plenty of sunshine with warmer high temperatures in the lower 80s.  Tonight will have a few clouds and it will not be as cool.  Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.
Wednesday will be a warm and breezy day ahead of a cold front.  There will be a slight chance for a shower late in the day.  Highs will be in the mid 80s.  The cold front will move through on Wednesday Night into Early on Thursday Morning with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Some of the storms could be strong to severe.  However, the better chance for severe weather will be over Central MS and North LA.  Lows will be around 70.
Thursday will start out with the rain and storms for the morning commute as the cold front moves through.  Then we will become clear and breezy in the afternoon.  It will not cool down much with this front as high temperatures will be in the mid 80s.
Strong southerly wind…

The area of high pressure will move east of Louisiana on Tuesday, and this will bring back more southerly winds.  We will be mostly sunny and warmer with highs in the lower 80s.  Tuesday Night will be mostly clear with lows in the 60s.
Wednesday will be pretty quiet during the day as a cold front heads our way.  Expect partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 80s.  The cold front will move through on Wednesday Night into Thursday Morning with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Some of the storms could be strong north of the lake as a squall line moves through.  Lows will be around 70.
The rain and storms will continue early on T…

Much Cooler and Breezy Today

The cold front has moved through and we will see an end to the rain today.  An upper-level low will move across Tennessee and this will help to keep some clouds over us today.  Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with much cooler and breezy northwest winds around 15-20 mph.  Highs will only be around 70°!  This will make for some great weather for the New Orleans Air Show in Belle Chasse.
Tonight will become mostly clear and cool to chilly.  Lows north of the lake will be in the upper 40s and south of the lake in the mid 50s.  You will want a jacket on Monday Morning!
After a cool/chilly start to the day on Monday, we will have some very comfortable weather.  High pressure will build over us from the west.  We will have plenty of sunshine and milder highs in the upper 70s.  Monday Night will not be as cool with lows in the 50s on both sides of the lake.

Saturday will be our transition day of weather.  A cold front will move into the area during the evening hours.  We will have spotty showers and storms from ahead and along it.  Much of Saturday will actually be mostly cloudy and pretty dry with the bulk of the rain/storms arriving in the late afternoon and continuing until midnight or so.  It will be warm and humid with highs in the mid 80s.
If you are headed to the New Orleans Air Show or the Old Metairie Crawfish Festival, the weather will be good for much of the day!  Just keep an eye on the radar Saturday Evening. Plan for some rain and storms if you are tailgating for the LSU Spring Game, but the rain …

Sunday will become a beautiful, breezy and much cooler day with plenty of sunshine.  High temperatures may struggle to get to 70°!  It will be cool to chill…

Warm With A Few Storms Again Today

Today's Forecast: We will continue to be warm and humid today with another chance for a few showers and storms this afternoon. Once we start to warm up, the heating of the day will help to set off the storms from late-morning until the evening hours - very similar to what we see in the Summer.  Any storm could produce heavy rain and some street flooding issues.  High temperatures will be in the lower 80s.  Tonight will be partly cloudy, mild and muggy with patchy fog.  Lows will be in the mid 60s.
Thursday and Friday will be just like today - partly cloudy warm and humid with isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Highs will be in the lower 80s.  Lows will be in the mid 60s on both sides of the lake.
The weather will change as we head into the weekend.  A cold front will move toward us on Saturday.  We will see spotty showers and storms ahead of it.  Right now, the day will not be a washout, but keep rain in your plans.  Some of the storms later in the day could…

Plan For More Rain and Thunderstorms Today

Today's weather will be very similar to what we saw on Sunday - plenty of clouds mixed with sun along with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  These storms are being set off by a weak disturbance/wave aloft.  As the wave moves through, it taps into the warm/humid air over us and sets off the storms.  The storms could produce some gusty winds and contain heavy rain.  Highs today will be in the lower 80s.  Tonight will be partly cloudy with patchy fog and a slight chance for a shower.  Lows will be in the 60s.
The wave will move east of us on Tuesday, but it will still be close enough to set off spotty showers and storms with mostly cloudy skies.  Highs will be in the lower 80s.
We start to dry out on Wednesday as an area of high pressure aloft moves over the Deep South.  This will make it partly cloudy with highs in the lower 80s.  The high pressure will sit right over us on Thursday and Friday.  This will allow us to see plenty of sunshine along with some warmer temperatures…

A Warm Day With A Slight Chance For Rain

A weak cold front will move into or near SE LA today.  This will help set off a few showers or storms before it moves east and dissipates.  However, most of you will not see any rain.  Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm with highs in the lower 80s.  Tonight will be mostly clear, cooler and comfortable.  Lows will be in the upper 50s north and mid 60s south of the lake.
An area of high pressure will build over the Gulf South Thursday and Friday.  We will be dry and partly cloudy each day.  Highs will still be warm as they climb into the lower 80s.  Each night will have a few clouds with lows in the 50s north and 60s south.
Looking ahead into Easter Weekend, the area of high pressure will move east of us.  That means return flow, or southerly winds will be back.  These winds will keep us warm, but they will also transport in some Gulf Moisture.  This will help to set off a few showers or storms each day with partly cloudy skies.  However, the chance will be low, so the rain …

Warmer and More Humid With A Few Showers Today

An upper-level trough of low pressure will send a cold front into Southern Mississippi today with scattered showers and storms along it.  The cold front will be close enough to set off a few showers and thunderstorms near us today - mainly toward Baton Rouge and into South Mississippi. It will be a little warmer and more humid with a mix of sun and clouds.  High temperatures will be back into the lower 80s.
The weather this evening will be partly cloudy and mild for the Wally Pontiff, Jr. Classic.  LSU takes on UL Lafayette at 7 PM at the Shrine on Airline (Formerly named Zephyr Stadium).  Overnight, will be partly cloudy with a slight chance for a shower and patchy fog. Lows will be in the upper 50s north and mid 60s south.
The trough and front will be just east of us on Wednesday, but they will be close enough to set off a spotty shower or storm with partly cloudy skies.  Highs will be in the lower 80s.
High pressure will build over us on Thursday and Friday.  This will keep us dry…

A Warm Week Ahead As We Head Into Easter Weekend

The area of high pressure that was over us this past weekend will move east of Louisiana today.  This will bring back southeasterly winds and some humidity.  We will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s.  Tonight will have a few clouds and lows in the upper 50s north and mid 60s south of the lake.
A trough of low pressure and cold front will move through part of the Southeast U.S. on Tuesday.  We will be far enough south not to see a big impact from this.  However, we could see a few showers and thunderstorms - mainly along the LA/MS state line.  Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and warm with highs in the lower 80s.  There could be a few showers on Tuesday Night as the cold front stalls and dissipates just north of us.  Lows will be in the 60s.
An area of high pressure will build back over the area Wednesday through Friday.  Each day will be partly cloudy and warm with highs in the 80s.  Lows will be in the 60s.

Few Strong Storms Today, Turning Much Cooler On Thursday

There is a threat for strong to severe storms across all of Southeast Louisiana through Noon today.  The environment is very unstable and this means showers and storms will develop as a cold front moves through this afternoon. Some of these storms could be severe with damaging winds, a few tornadoes and large hail.  Fortunately, the risk is low across SE LA. SPC has us in a Marginal Risk or level 1 risk.  That does not mean put your guard down, but I'm not expecting many, if any storms.  Stay weather aware.
Our main weather issue today will be gusty winds as the cold front moves through.  Drier air will follow behind the cold front and the winds will be out of the NW at 15-25 mph with higher gusts.  The NWS has issued a Wind Advisory until 7 AM Thursday for the Southshore.  Watch for restrictions on the Cause for your commute home!
The worst of the severe weather is expected across much of Alabama and Georgia where a tornado outbreak is possible!  SPC has parts of those areas in …

Near Record Highs Possible Today, Severe Weather Possible Tonight

We will have some pleasant weather today with plenty of sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures.  Highs will be in the mid 80s.  This will be near the record high of 85° set back in 2001.
The weather will go downhill tonight as our next system moves through.  The old cold front will retreat back to the north as a warm front this evening.  At the same time, an upper-level low will move out of the Rockies toward St. Louis.  As this happens, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop starting around 10 PM and will continue overnight.  Some of the storms along and south of the warm front could be strong to severe!  SPC has put all of Southeast Louisiana in a Marginal Risk for severe weather, and the Northshore into Southern Mississippi in a Slight Risk.  You will need to stay weather aware tonight into Wednesday Morning!!  Have your weather radios and weather apps on standby mode to alert you to any warnings overnight. Lows will be in the lower 70s.
After the threat for stron…
