Short Term Forecast: We have a cool start to this Tuesday with mostly clear skies as some high clouds move into Louisiana. Temperatures are in the lower to mid 50s.
Get ready for a pretty pleasant day across the Baton Rouge area! An area of high pressure is sitting between the upper-level low over Georgia and another low near the Central Plains States. This is keeping us dry with some partly cloudy skies expected this afternoon. We will become warmer with high temperatures back into the lower 80s this afternoon.
Another pleasant night is expected with a few clouds overhead. Low temperatures will still be cool as they fall to the upper 50s.
Week Ahead: More nice weather is on tap for Wednesday and Thursday as the high pressure moves just east of Louisiana. We will be partly cloudy, warmer and more humid each day. Highs will be in the lower to mid 80s and lows in the lower 60s.
The weather starts to change on Friday as a cold front moves toward Louisiana. It will tap into the warm and humid air mass over the state. This will set off scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms ahead of the front. Some heavy rain will be possible. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Friday Night will be cloudy with scattered showers. Low temperatures will be in the mid 60s.
Weekend Outlook: The slow-moving cold front will still stall over the city on Saturday. It will set off scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms all day. The rain could still be heavy at times. Highs will be in the lower 80s and lows in the mid 60s with lingering showers Saturday Night.
We will still have to dodge some rain and storms on Sunday as the cold front finally pushes through Baton Rouge. Otherwise, it will become mostly cloudy during the afternoon as the rain tapers off. Highs will stay in the lower 80s, but it will turn cooler on Sunday Night with lows in the upper 50s.
Enjoy the pleasant weather and have a nice day! -Dave
