A Nice Memorial Day, Rain/Storms Return On Tuesday

Memorial Day!  Thank you to all that have served and are currently serving this great Nation!

Short Term Forecast:  The streak of nice weather continues on this Memorial Day.  We will be partly cloudy, very warm and humid with just a 10% chance for a pop-up shower.  Highs will be in the upper 80s.

More muggy weather is on tap tonight with partly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 60s north of the lake and lower 70s south of the lake.

Soggy Weather Returns:  An upper-level low will move toward Louisiana from the west on Tuesday.  This will tap into the very warm and humid air mass over us, and that will set off scattered showers and thunderstorms.  Some heavy rain is possible.  Highs will be in the mid 80s before it starts raining.  Tuesday Night will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers.  Lows will be around 70.

The wet weather pattern will continue on Wednesday and Thursday as the upper-level low sits over us and weakens.  Each day will have scattered showers and th…

A soggy start to Mother's Day Weekend

Rain Returns:  Make sure you take your umbrella with you as you head out the door today and this weekend!  A cold front will move by just to the north of Louisiana. We could pick up 2-3"+ of rain, so watch out for some possible flooding.

Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms across Southeast Louisiana through the afternoon and into this evening.  Some of the storms could be strong with gusty winds, heavy rain and small hail especially on the Northshore.  Highs will be in the lower 80s.

The rain and storms will continue overnight.  More heavy rain is possible north and south of the lake.  Lows will be around 70.

Weekend Forecast:  The weekend looks like it will start out soggy with scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday as some disturbances pass over us.  Once again, some storms could be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds.  Some ponding of water on roadways is possible.  We will be warmer tomorrow with highs in the mid 80s.  A few showers are pos…

Get ready for a gorgeous weekend!

Rest of Today/Tonight:  Clouds have increased this afternoon as an upper-level disturbance moves over us from the southwest.  There is rain showing up on Pinpoint Doppler Radar, but it is evaporating as it falls.  This is called virga.  It is possible for some rain drops to make it to the ground, so look for a few sprinkles.  High temperatures will be in the mid 70s.

The clouds will move out of the area tonight and it will become mostly clear, cool and comfortable.  Lows will still be a little chilly north of the lake as they will be around 50.  South of the lake lows will be in the upper 50s.

Gorgeous Weekend:  The weekend weather is going to be fantastic!  An area of high pressure will sit over us and that means we will have plenty of sunshine with low humidity.  This is just perfect for Jazz Fest!  Make sure to wear your sunscreen.  Highs will be in the lower 80s and lows in the 50s north of the lake and 60s south.

Next Week Outlook:  The area of high pressure will move …
