An upper-level trough of low pressure will send a cold front into Southern Mississippi today with scattered showers and storms along it. The cold front will be close enough to set off a few showers and thunderstorms near us today - mainly toward Baton Rouge and into South Mississippi. It will be a little warmer and more humid with a mix of sun and clouds. High temperatures will be back into the lower 80s.
The weather this evening will be partly cloudy and mild for the Wally Pontiff, Jr. Classic. LSU takes on UL Lafayette at 7 PM at the Shrine on Airline (Formerly named Zephyr Stadium). Overnight, will be partly cloudy with a slight chance for a shower and patchy fog. Lows will be in the upper 50s north and mid 60s south.
The trough and front will be just east of us on Wednesday, but they will be close enough to set off a spotty shower or storm with partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the lower 80s.
High pressure will build over us on Thursday and Friday. This will keep us dry and warm with highs in the lower 80s.
The area of high pressure will move into the Eastern Gulf of Mexico for Easter Weekend. This will keep us warm and humid with a slight chance for a shower or storms each afternoon. However, the chance for rain is low enough that it will not have an impact on your Easter Plans. Highs will be in the lower 80s. Lows will be in the lower to mid 60s.
