After a cold start to the day, we will start to see warmer temperatures today. An area of high pressure will move east of Louisiana today. This will shift the winds from the NE to the SE. The southerly winds will help to rise the temperatures into the mid 60s under mostly sunny skies. Tonight will be mostly clear and not as cold. Lows will be in the upper 40s north and lower 50s south of the lake.
The warming trend continues on Friday, St. Patrick's Day, with more southerly winds. We will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid 70s. The evening looks great for the Downtown Irish Club Parade at 6 PM with temperatures in the 60s. Friday Night will be partly cloudy with lows in the 50s on both sides of the lake.
The weekend will be very nice and milder. Saturday will be partly cloudy and very mild with a slight chance for a shower as a cold front falls apart over us. Highs will be in the upper 70s. Saturday Evening will be partly cloudy and mild for the 6 PM Italian-American St. Joseph's Parade with temperatures in the 70s and falling into the 60s. Saturday Night will be mostly clear and cool with lows around 60.
Sunday will be a few degrees cooler in the wake of the dissipated cold front. We will be partly cloudy and mild with highs in the mid 70s. Again, this will be great weather for the Irish-Italian Parade in Metairie at Noon.
The outlook for next week keeps us dry and warm through Wednesday.
