Get ready for a mild and foggy Christmas Weekend! An area of high pressure over the Gulf of Mexico will slowly move to the east toward Florida. This will bring back southerly flow over SE LA all weekend, and that means much warmer temperatures. We will start out Saturday/Christmas Eve with some dense fog and it could stick around well into the day. Otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy and mild with highs in the mid 70s. Saturday Night will be cloudy with more dense fog. Santa will need Rudolph to guide his sleigh for sure!! Lows will be in the 60s.
Christmas Morning will be very foggy with some mist and temperatures in the 60s. The fog will likely stick around for much of the day with cloudy skies, so please be careful if you are traveling. Visibilities will likely be less than 1/4 mile. We will stay mild with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Next week continues to be foggy and mild with a slight chance for rain Monday through Wednesday as the ridge remains off the East Coast. Highs will be in the 70s. Then on Thursday/Friday Morning a strong cold front is forecast to move through and this will bring us scattered showers and storms. It will also help to drop the temperatures by Friday with highs in the 50s or cooler.
I want to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Kwanzaa! -Dave Nussbaum
