A Hurricane Hunter plane investigating the system has found winds have increased to 45 mph and now Tropical Depression #10 has strengthened into Tropical Storm Ingrid. It is slowly moving erratically to the west at 2 mph. Ingrid will turn to the NNW tonight and will slowly track toward Northern Mexico this weekend. Landfall is expected to be on Sunday Night/Monday Morning near Tampico, Mexico with 65 mph winds.
Ingrid will stay away from Louisiana thanks to a ridge of high pressure that will build across the Southern U.S. this weekend. The clockwise flow around the ridge will force the storm to stay on a northwest track.
Be sure to keep it tuned to WBRZ, WBRZ Weather Channel and my Facebook/Twitter feeds to any additional updates. -Dave
