Hot Weather: Today became the hottest day of 2013 with high temperatures reaching to 93 degrees!! However, this is nothing compared to what we will see the rest of the week...
Short Term Forecast: We will be mostly clear to partly cloudy through the evening with a few showers and thunderstorms. They will dissipate by 8 PM and then we will just have a few clouds overnight with sticky temps. in the mid 70s.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with only a few storms possible. It will be very hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s. The Heat Index will be around 100 to 105 at times! Please take frequent breaks and stay hydrated if you plan on being outside for a long time.
Wednesday Night will be mostly clear and steamy with lows in the mid 70s.
Rest of the Week: More oppressive heat and humid will be on tap for Thursday as the area of high pressure remains over the Deep South. It will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid 90s and the Heat Index around 105+. Thursday Night will have a few clouds with lows in the mid 70s.
The next best chance for rain will be on Friday as a weak cold front moves toward Louisiana. Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with only isolated (30%) storms, so not all of you will see rain. It will still be very hot and humid with highs in the mid 90s. Friday Night will have a few more clouds with a spotty shower. Lows will be in the mid 70s.
Weekend Outlook: The cold front will dissipate as it moves into the Northern Gulf of Mexico on Saturday. Another ridge of high pressure will build across the Southeast U.S. This will keep it hot and limit the amount of rain/storms we will have on Saturday and Sunday with partly cloudy skies. Daily high temperatures will be in the mid 90s and lows in the mid 70s. Heat Indices will stay around 105-110 at times! Try to stay cool!
Tropical Outlook: Everything is still quiet!
Have a good evening and stay in the A/C if you can! -Dave
