Short Term Forecast: It is a clear to mostly clear start to this Monday with some cool to chilly temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s. You may want a jacket as you head out the door!
You can expect a gorgeous day with plenty of sunshine and a few clouds across the sky as high pressure sits over us. We will still have some northerly winds in place, so it will not get too warm today. High temperatures will be in the lower 80s.
We will have a mostly clear night and it will still be a little cool. Low temperatures will fall to the mid 50s.
Week Ahead: The area of high pressure will remain over us on Tuesday. This will keep it sunny, but we will become a little warmer as the northerly winds are replaced by more southerly ones. High temperatures will be in the mid 80s and lows in the upper 50s on Tuesday Night.
The high pressure will be east of Louisiana on Wednesday, and that means the winds will be out of the south. This will open the Gulf of Mexico up, and we will start to become more humid! The sky will be partly cloudy and it will stay warm with highs in the mid 80s. Wednesday Night will have some clouds and a little fog. Lows will be in the lower 60s.
A weak disturbance, or short wave, will move across the state on Thursday and Friday. This will give us partly cloudy skies, but with daytime heating, we could see a few showers or thunderstorms pop-up. It will be a very warm and humid each day with highs in the mid 80s. Each night will be partly cloudy and muggy with lows in the mid 60s.
Weekend Outlook: The very warm and humid air will stay over us on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a very slight chance for some pop-up afternoon showers and thunderstorms each day. This will be very much like a Summer-time set-up. It will be almost hot each day with highs in the upper 80s!! A few places could get to around 90! We will be mostly clear each night with lows in the upper 60s.
Be sure to get out and enjoy the pleasant weather today! -Dave
