Short Term Forecast: We begin this Monday with clear skies, breezy conditions and chilly temperatures in the 30s. Better bundle up!
We will stay cool all day thanks to an area of high pressure building in from the northwest. This is ushering in breezy north to northwest winds over us all day around 10 to 15 mph. It will be a gorgeous day with sunny skies, but the high temperatures will only be around 60. Keep that jacket with you all day!
The winds will diminish tonight with clear skies. This will allow us to get very cold and a light freeze is possible! Lows will be in the lower 30s around Metro Baton Rouge, but areas north and east of town may get below freezing! Be sure to cover or bring in your plants tonight!!
Week Ahead: The area of high pressure will remain over us on Tuesday and Wednesday. We will stay sunny with highs in the upper 50s on Tuesday and mid 60s on Wednesday. Lows will be in the lower 30s Tuesday Night with a light freeze possible, and in the upper 30s on Wednesday Night.
The area of high pressure will move east of Louisiana on Thursday and that will shift the winds from the north to the south. This will warm us back up and bring in some partly cloudy skies for Thursday and Friday. Highs will be in the lower 70s and lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s each day.
Weekend Outlook: The warm-up continues into the weekend, but we may have to dodge a few showers each day thanks to a weak disturbance moving across the Gulf Coast States. Therefore, Saturday and Sunday will be partly to mostly cloudy with isolated showers each day. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70s and lows in the mid to upper 50s.
Bundle up and have a great day! -Dave
