Short Term Forecast: We start this Tuesday Morning with mostly cloudy skies and mild temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
A cold front will move into and through Baton Rouge later this morning and into the afternoon hours. We will have mostly cloudy skies with isolated showers today. Most of the rain will be light, and not all of you will get any rain. It will be warm and breezy ahead of the front with highs in the upper 60s.
The front will be off to the east of Louisiana tonight. It will become mostly clear and much colder with a little breeze. Lows will dip into the mid 30s in the city. Areas north and east of town will be closer to the lower 30s, so a light freeze will be possible.
Week Ahead: High pressure will build in behind the front on Wednesday, and that will bring in some cool northerly winds. This will make it sunny with much cooler high temperatures around 60. Some of you may not even get into the 60s tomorrow. Wednesday Night will be clear and cold with lows in the mid 30s. Again, areas north and east of town will be close to 32, so a light freeze will be possible. Keep all plants inside!
More pleasant weather is on tap for Thursday with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the mid 60s and lows in the lower 40s.
The area of high pressure will move to the east of Louisiana on Friday. This will shift the winds from the north to the south and this will warm us back up! We will have partly cloudy skies with highs in the lower 70s and lows in the upper 40s.
Weekend Outlook: The warm and more humid weather will continue into the weekend. Saturday will be partly cloudy with highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s.
The weather is going to change starting on Sunday. We will still have a pretty nice day, but a cold front will be moving toward Louisiana. This will give us partly to mostly cloudy skies along with a few showers possible. It will stay warm and become more humid with highs in the mid 70s. Sunday Night will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows will only fall into the upper 50s.
Take an umbrella today and have a great one! -Dave
