Short Term Forecast: We have a chilly start to this Tuesday with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures are in the lower 40s.
High pressure will build over Louisiana today in the wake of the cold front that moved through last night. We will see a gradual decrease in the cloud cover with mostly sunny skies expected this afternoon. It will be a cooler day with highs in the lower 60s.
Look for mostly clear skies and chilly temperatures down to the lower 40s tonight.
Week Ahead: The area of high pressure will move to the east of Louisiana on Wednesday. This will shift the winds from the northeast to the east and then to the southeast. That will allow us to warm back up! We will have mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s. Wednesday Night will be mostly clear and a little chilly with lows in the upper 40s.
Thursday will be even warmer with partly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 70s. Thursday Night is going to have partly to mostly cloudy skies with lows in the mid 50s.
A cold front will move into and through Baton Rouge on Friday. This front will tap into the warm and humid air that is over the state. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected and some could be strong at times with gusty winds. It will be unseasonably warm and humid ahead of the front with highs in the mid 70s. The front will be east of Louisiana on Friday Night, and we will become mostly clear and much colder. Lows will fall to the lower 40s.
Weekend Outlook: Another area of high pressure will build in behind the cold front, and that will bring us sunny skies. It will also be much cooler with highs only in the upper 50s. Saturday Night will be clear and cold with lows in the upper 30s.
Sunday will still be a very nice day with mostly sunny skies, and it will become a tad warmer with highs in the lower 60s. Sunday Night will be not be as cold with lows in the upper 40s.
Enjoy the sunshine and have a nice day! -Dave
