Short Term Forecast: We begin this Wednesday morning with low clouds that are sticking around this morning along with some drizzle and mist. Temperatures are pretty chilly as they start out in the lower 40s.
The low clouds will gradually move to the east of Baton Rouge this afternoon and it will become sunny. However, the cloud cover will make it hard for temperatures to warm up. Highs will be in the lower 60s. You may want to take that jacket with you today.
Expect mostly clear skies and some cold temperatures tonight. Lows will drop into the upper 30s, so you better bundle up tonight!
Rest of the Week: High pressure will sit over the Deep South on Thursday and that will make for a gorgeous sunny day. It will be a little warmer with highs in the upper 60s. Thursday Night will be clear and chilly with lows in the upper 40s.
The area of high pressure will move east of Louisiana on Friday and that will bring back some southeast winds. These winds will usher in warmer temperatures are moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. We will be partly cloudy with highs in the lower 70s. Friday Night will be mostly clear with patchy fog. Lows will not be as cold as they only fall to the lower 50s.
Weekend Forecast: A weak trough of low pressure will move across the Southeast U.S. on Saturday. This will keep it partly cloudy and we could have a shower or two pop-up. However, most of you will not see much rain. The forecast models are being very bullish about rain showing up. It will stay warm and be a little humid with highs in the mid 70s. Saturday Night will have a few clouds and some fog with lows in the upper 50s.
More warm weather is on tap for Sunday with partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 50s with patchy fog again.
Tropical Outlook: Everything is still quiet in the tropics with 3 days left in the 2012 Hurricane Season. Tropical cyclone formation is not expected through Thursday.
