High pressure is currently sitting over us and it will move to the east of Louisiana today. This will allow us to have plenty of sunshine with warmer high temperatures in the lower 80s. Tonight will have a few clouds and it will not be as cool. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.
Wednesday will be a warm and breezy day ahead of a cold front. There will be a slight chance for a shower late in the day. Highs will be in the mid 80s. The cold front will move through on Wednesday Night into Early on Thursday Morning with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could be strong to severe. However, the better chance for severe weather will be over Central MS and North LA. Lows will be around 70.
Thursday will start out with the rain and storms for the morning commute as the cold front moves through. Then we will become clear and breezy in the afternoon. It will not cool down much with this front as high temperatures will be in the mid 80s.
Strong southerly winds will return on Friday and Saturday. It will be partly cloudy and very warm each day with a slight chance for a shower or storm. Highs will be in the upper 80s and it will feel like the lower 90s. Plan for some very warm weather for the first 2 days of Jazz Fest and the Zurich Classic.
Another cold front will move into the area on Sunday. It will bring us more showers and storms starting in the afternoon. Some of these storms could be strong, so we will have to keep an eye on this as we head to the weekend. This could cause some issues with Jazz Fest and the Final Round of the Zurich Classic.
