It will be another unseasonably warm and humid day across the New Orleans area ahead of a cold front. We will be mostly cloudy and breezy with spotty showers and thunderstorms today. Highs will be in the lower 80s and near the record of 83° set back in 2011. The cold front will move through this evening around 6 PM on the Northshore, 8 PM on the Southshore and along the coast by 10 PM. It will have a line of showers and thunderstorms associated with it. Some of the storms could be strong with heavy rain and gusty winds, especially in Southern Mississippi where there is a Marginal Risk for severe weather today by SPC.
Overnight, we will become partly cloudy, windy and much cooler with lows in the lower 50s north and mid 50s south of the lake.
High pressure will build over us on Thursday and Friday. This will bring us plenty of sunshine along with much cooler high temperatures in the mid 60s. These temperatures are what it is supposed to be this time of year! Lows will be chilly as they will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s north and around 50 south.
The weekend will start out nice with partly cloudy skies on Saturday. It will still be cool with highs in the upper 60s. A weak disturbance will move across the area on Sunday. This will make it partly to mostly cloudy with a slight chance for a shower. It will become much warmer with highs in the mid 70s.
