Our New Orleans Saints will head to Charlotte, NC on Thursday Night to play the Panthers in a big division game. There will be one big concern during the game - SMOKE.
Large wildfires west of Charlotte are currently burning 10,000+ acres and are continuing to spread. These fires have made the air quality very bad with all of the smoke. Winds are forecast to come out of the west on Thursday, and that means all of the smoke will blow right over Charlotte.
It will be warm during tailgating before the game with temperatures in the 80s, but it will be hazy with smoke. More smoke it likely at kickoff with temperatures in the upper 60s, and it will remain smoky after the game with temperatures in the 60s.
AQI is currently Code Red or Unhealthy. If you are going to the game get ready to breathe in some smoky air. It looks like the cold front on Saturday will at least shift the smoke to the south once it passes through on Saturday with some rain possible. -Dave
