Here is a breakdown of how much snow and ice we are expecting across SE LA starting on Tuesday AM thru Wednesday AM. Some areas in Southern Mississippi could see even more snow (3"+). This would be the most snow we have seen in years!
1/4" to 1/2" of ice is SIGNIFICANT! This would be enough to down trees and power lines. Please plan for some power outages all across Southeast Louisiana.
The NWS has a Winter Storm Warning for all of SE LA starting on Tuesday Morning and lasting until Wednesday Morning. This is issued when significant snow and ice are expected, and when travel will be significantly impacted!!
