...Hard Freeze Watch Sunday Night Through Monday Morning...
Short Term Forecast: We had a pretty pleasant Sunday with sunny skies and mild temperatures in the 60s. It will not be as chilly tonight with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Low temperatures will be in the upper 40s.
You can expect plenty of clouds on Sunday as a strong Arctic Cold Front moves into Baton Rouge. Scattered showers will move into town during the afternoon with the cold front. High temperatures will be in the mid 60s ahead of the front. As soon as the front passes through town, it will become windy and the temperatures will fall quickly from the 60s into the 40s! Winds will be out of the southwest to northwest at 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts.
The rain will end Sunday Night and it will become VERY COLD with low temperatures in the mid 20s under mostly clear skies.
Early Next Week Cold Blast: The coldest air will arrive on Monday in the wake of the cold front as a trough of low pressure swings across Louisiana. Additionally, an area of high pressure will move south from Canada all the way to the Deep South behind the trough. This will bring some of the coldest air we have seen in years!!! Expect sunny skies on Monday with our high temperatures struggling to reach the upper 30s.
The BITTER COLD AIR arrives on Monday Night. We will have clear skies, good radiational cooling of the Earth and calm winds as the cold air sinks over us. Low temperatures will be in the upper teens!! Make sure you have a warm place to be in on Monday Night. Also have a warm place for your outdoor pets - bring them inside! Wrap any exposed pipes too! Some of you north of Baton Rouge may not get above freezing on Monday and that would be cold enough to burst pipes.
The Arctic Blast sticks around on Tuesday with sunny skies an a high around 40. Tuesday Night will be very cold and clear with lows in the lower to mid 20s.
Fortunately, the cold blast does not last long. The trough moves to the east of Louisiana along with the area of high pressure. This will take the coldest air away and replace it with some slightly warmer air on Wednesday. We will have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs in in the lower 50s. Wednesday Night will not be as cold, but it will still be chilly with lows in the lower 40s.
Warming Up Mid-Week: Even warmer air arrives for the rest of the week as southerly winds, or return flow, comes up from the Gulf of Mexico. At the same time a weak disturbance (upper-level low) will move across the state on Thursday and Friday, and it will tap into the Gulf Moisture. This will give us partly to mostly cloudy skies with a few showers. High temperatures will climb back in to the mid 60s and lows will only be in the lower 50s.
Another cold front is forecast to move into Baton Rouge on Friday Night through Saturday. It is expected to stall along the coast and keep the weekend wet with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. It will stay warm with high temperatures in the 60s and lows in the 50s. Some drier and cooler air arrives on Sunday, but it is not going to be bitter cold with this front.

If I had everything, it would be a triad of my favorite music on the mp3 player with no batteries and maybe some super-charged specialty chocolate coconut milk mixed with cayenne pepper for blodo flow, and peppermint for extra alertness. I LOVE that smell of X-mas trees though. Why isn't that ever edible...?
As of course, the stretching, omega 3, warming activities, B12, B6... general frekaing vitamins; what's ever the best balance for my system for one night? Doctors/physicians DON'T give advice like thaT! Just screw it until the day comes. That feels better.
