Short Term Forecast: We have plenty of clouds with some light rain and drizzle across the Baton Rouge area this morning. Temperatures are in the 40s to 50s, so grab your jacket and umbrella.
A trough of low pressure will move through town today, and that will set off isolated showers this afternoon. The rain is not expected to be as widespread, or as heavy as it was on Wednesday. Otherwise, we will be pretty dreary with mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will only climb into in the lower 60s.
Any rain we get will come to an end tonight as the trough of low pressure moves east of Louisiana. We will be partly to mostly cloudy with chilly low temperatures in the mid 40s.
An area of high pressure will build over the Southeast U.S. on Friday and that will make for some gorgeous weather! We will be mostly sunny and warmer with a high around 70. Friday Night will be clear and chilly with lows in the 40s.
Weekend Outlook: The area of high pressure will sit over Louisiana on Saturday. This will keep us sunny and much warmer with high temperatures in the mid 70s. Saturday Night will be mostly clear with patchy dense fog and lows in the mid 50s.
The high pressure will move east of Louisiana on Sunday and that will bring southerly winds back to the state. This will draw up some moisture from the Gulf and we will have partly cloudy skies once we get rid of the morning fog. It will be warmer with highs in the upper 70s. More patchy dense fog is on tap for Sunday Night with mostly clear skies. Low will fall to the upper 50s.
Keep that umbrella with you and have a nice day! -Dave
