We will have a gorgeous afternoon across the Capital City! An area of high pressure has built in over the Southeast U.S. behind the snowstorm that rolled through north of us yesterday. This will make it sunny and a little cool with highs in the upper 50s.
The chilly temperatures will continue tonight with clear skies. Lows will dip into the mid 30s. Better bundle up tonight if you are going out on the town!
Weekend Forecast: The sunshine will stay in the forecast each day. There will be a cold front that will move into Louisiana on Sunday Night, but it will not have any rain associated with it. We will just see a few clouds on Saturday and Sunday. It will become a little warmer each day since the high pressure will be located to the east of Louisiana. High temperatures will be in the mid 60s and lows in the lower 40s.
Next Week Outlook: Another area of high pressure will build in behind the dry cold front on Monday with sunny skies. There will be some cooler temperatures behind the front with highs in the upper 50s and lows in the lower 30s on Monday Night.
Expect plenty of sunshine on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will be in the mid 50s on Tuesday and lower 60s on Wednesday. Lows will be in the mid 30s Tuesday Night and mid 40s Wednesday Night.
Some clouds will return on Thursday as moisture comes back up from the Gulf of Mexico. We will be partly cloudy and warmer with highs in the mid 60s and lows in the lower 50s.
A cold front will move into and through Baton Rouge on Friday. This one will bring scattered showers and some thunderstorms. Highs will be in the upper 60s and lows in the 40s.
Enjoy the dry weather and have a great weekend! -Dave
